Goal 1: To gain knowledge and abilities in working with students from
diverse backgrounds and deal with their behavioral problems effectively.

The teacher uses an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.

Professional Development Action Plan: I will discuss current behavior issues of a student from low socioeconomic family with my mentor teacher, and work with him to modify the students behavior for the betterment of the overall classroom environment.

Goal 2: To create new and unique lesson plans involving the larger school
community to incorporate into my own classroom in the future.

Standard 7: Teachers are able to plan different kinds of lessons. (Wisconsin Educator Standards)
The teacher organizes and plans systematic instruction based upon knowledge of subject matter, pupils, the community, and curriculum goals.

Professional Development Action Plan: I will develop new lesson plans from scratch, and discuss them with my mentor teacher. I will work to try and incorporate these lesson plans into my experience at Logan High School or at my other art field experience.
